Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer wrote Take Me Out To The Ballgame in 1908. It’s had a long and happy life, first in Vaudeville halls, a 1927 film of the same name, and this record. Baseball greats Phil Rizzuto, Roy Campanella, Ralph Branca, and Tommy Heinrich recorded the tune in 1952.

And the song’s as popular today as ever before. You can hear it during the seventh inning stretch of the nearly 2,500 Major League Baseball games per year, as well as every minor league game. That’s a whole lot of cracker jack.

Rizzuto and Campanella were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, but thanks to this record, Branca and Heinrich are there as well. The record resides at the museum in Cooperstown NY.
