Before he became America’s pre-eminent folk artist, Warren Kimble ‘57 would leave Syracuse University for the place that would become his home for the next five decades plus: Brandon, Vermont. We visited Warren and wife Lorraine Kimble as they led us on a tour of the picturesque town, the various galleries with which he’s involved, and their lovely home. We talked about his work, (of course), but also of SU memories: his cheerleading career, Jim Brown and Cotton Bowl, and the professor who he thinks of every time he mixes colors. We also caught up with some local residents to learn that in Brandon, Warren Kimble’s name is on much more than the corners of his paintings.
