You think YOUR family’s a little off? Cousin Emmy was CRAZY.
Emmy, born Cynthia May Carver, called herself “the first hillbilly to own a Cadillac”, and she did nothing traditionally.
She played her banjo in an uncommon down-picking style called frailing. She made music with an inflated rubber glove. She even played music on her own cheeks. This is Cousin Emmy and “Her Kinfolk” with “Lost John” in 1956.
Emmy played 15 instruments all told, among them the ukulele, the hand-saw and, don’t forget the harmonica.
